The Vigilance of a Child's Prayer

God granted the child a ritual vision
His eyes they divided the world into rhythms
Ideas were twinned by his mind with their sisters
Conducting the signs out of time's contradictions

A sacramental disposition
Into imagination's machine

Flirting with death he slept into Christ's dream
And with vigilance crept to the edge of his being
Jesus' mystery sent him on Elise'm streams
Till' all destiny rested on what she received

The consequences of charity
Incarnation burns naked belief

But with pride of untried he leapt off prudence hinge
As the wounds between he and the world needed bridged
So the gift made in youth became flower to fate
And he learned to spin reasons so Love could relate

Hylomorphic as emotion states
Apologetic as history

Truly humbled and broken by romance and mud
He monstrated his weakness to reap from his Judge
He let God build her 'no' into 'knowledge' still young
Holding hope that her warmth at the hour would come

Intuitively he disentombs
Her nomenless ethereal womb

Bitter pain of disdain paints a staid evening snow
Winter's tears by years toiling here seasons to slow
Spired old as God opened froze garden to show
Priestly soul child crossed the cold silence to grow

He never portends the end of road
Since God's Presence all prescience devote
